Rip Tyson 'spud' Perez

The World Series Sprintcar racing family is saddened by the passing of Tyson Perez, a well respected member of the Australian Speedway fraternity. Tyson, the Australian distributor of Smiley’s race parts is the son of much loved speedway identities Deb and Peter Tucker.
Tyson whom was critically injured in a tragic accident passed away at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, USA at about 9 a.m. on Wednesday the 21st of July.
Also injured in the accident was Tyson’s close friend, U.S.A Sprintcar driver Travis Rilat. Rilat who was critically injured remains in intensive care.
A statement issued after Tyson’s death by his family perfectly sums up how we all feel : “Tyson touched everyone that knew him and life will never be the same. We love you Tyson and you will be missed.”
Internet message boards and Facebook have been flooded with emotional messages of support and sympathy for Tyson and his family and serve as true testament to the warm, fun loving and kind hearted nature of Tyson.
WSS would like to pass on its thoughts and best wishes to Travis Rilat and family.
