Bryan Mann went into the 2007-08 Wanless World Series Sprintcars championship under no illusions. For the pilot of the Capalaba Wreckers / Ryco Engineering J&J out of the Performance Wholesale stable it was all about learning the craft against the best in the business night in and night out.

Mann became one of the series' most respected drivers as he was aggresive enough when needed but was ultra smooth and at all times respectful of the other drivers on the track.

Under the Wanless World Series Sprintcars format qualifying well is critical and its this aspect of the series that Mann, armed with a significantly lower spec'd powerplant, found himself well behind the eight ball.

In the first half of the series Mann failed to qualifying in the top half of the field in all but one meeting. On that occasion he excelled timing ninth out of 53 cars at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway during round six of the championship.
